Board of Directors – Call for Nomination

The North Muskoka NPLC is currently looking for interested individuals with a professional background or governance experience in the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Legal (expertise in the non-profit sector)
  • Health equity and community engagement
  • Patient advocacy

Board members are responsible for providing strategic direction and governance leadership with a focus on facilitating improvement in client health and wellness.  Time commitment is approximately 2 hours monthly with a two-year term.

We are committed to ensuring we reflect the diversity of the population we serve, and welcome a diversity of skills and expertise to our Board.

Social Worker (MSW)

Permanent Full Time

As part of an interdisciplinary primary health care team, the social worker will use evidenced based care to provide assistance to clients and their families who cope with challenging situations, with a goal of helping improve and maximize their health and wellness.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide ongoing mental health counselling to registered clients and link with community resources and support as needed.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of individual and group education sessions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to ensure appropriate management and client follow-up as required
  • Participate in community advocacy initiatives

Qualifications:

· Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

· 3-5 years relevant work experience

· Excellent inter-personal, communication and decision-making clinical skills

· Demonstrated ability to teach, counsel and develop written educational materials

· Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary health services team
